Re: .wav vs. .flac for distros
I prefer flac for distribution, and have had no problems. Otherwise, for my personal use either one is fine. Either format I have to convert to mp3 in order to upload to our YouTube channel.

I prefer wav format. Granted the files are larger but there is no compression. And wav files are ideal for burning to CD.

Re: .wav vs. .flac for distros
I always like WAVs but in the interest of disc space, have been fine with FLACs. Since it’s lossless, whomever wants WAVs can convert them. I do have issues with FLACS now and then on my Mac - if

Re: .wav vs. .flac for distros
Hi, Ryan.
I use a mac as my primary computer and haven't had any issues with flac files. If it's easier to convert and upload that format, I say go for it.

.wav vs. .flac for distros
I'm working on a new set and there's a fair number of episodes in .wav format. Of course, they're huge and converting them to .flac for distribution and uploading to Archive makes them a little easier

Re: Casey, Crime Photographer -- help needed -- updated Casey log!
Yesterday I mentioned the first NY Times listing was for July 4, 1943. That was a Sunday paper with a weekly schedule. The listing for the show was actually for Wed 7/7/43. I did not mean to mislead.

Re: Casey, Crime Photographer -- help needed -- updated Casey log!
Thanks for reminding me
For some reason the Alonzo Deen Cole papers have the name change noted as April 8, 1944
That makes no sense, because we have a copy of "Clue in the Clouds" with the series name

Joe/Danny
Go to jjonz.us/RadioLogs and search the NY Times for "Flashgun Casey" years 1940-44 (also do a search for Casey as the OCR was not too good). You will find that title was first listed on

I think there may have been a change in the title in 1945. In searching the NYT I found the first listing for Casey, Press Photographer in a 2/6/44 weekly listing. I've attached and

I have been unable to find anything pre-1945 in newspaperarchive.com For Casey. It seems very dark and cold.

I actually remember that week, but not from the radio side.
On September 26, 1962 we got the Beverly Hillbillies. I was there.
September 30, 1962 radio died and I didn’t know it.
