I know in 1948 they called the Bob Hope show the New Swan show. Bob had a new cast in 1948 with Doris Day, Bill Farrell, Ireen Ryan, and Jack Kirkwood. Maybe that was a radio trend

Yes I know AFRS did this regularly, especially for the variety shows like Fred Allen -- Fred was too topical and AFRS did not want shows to sound
