Audacity Speed Change
Can Audacity be used to adjust the speed of a file? I need to speed up a show by about a minute.

Weird files on site...
Damon Fries
I’m having a strange thing happen on the OTRRG site….. on many shows, the first episode of the series are empty files - there are 2 files, one says .mp3 and the next is the same episode with .LCK after - the file sizes are 1k and 26k (!)… at first I thought they were placeholders, but it’s on many many shows… (examples: Happy Hank, Hardy Boys, Hallmark Playhouse…)
Does anyone know what this could be ?

Re: Jungle Jim serial
Gordon Johansen
It was one of the Hearst Newspaper shows
that matched up with what happened in the weekly coloured comic strips.
The serial is interesting with the usual lions and tigers in Africa,
white goddess, bad guys, etc. I really enjoyed it and especially the
episodes where the women were much smarter than he was. Of course, they
had the usual love/hate/spurned relationships with the mostly clueless
hero. Great show.

Re: Jungle Jim serial
I believe it was both, and maybe a newspaper strip as well. We don't distribute video but Art is talking about OTRR maybe putting together a set of the radio program. Ryan www.RyanEllett.com The Old Time Radio Researchers "Saving the Past for the Future" www.OTRR.org www.OTRRLibrary.org

Re: Jungle Jim radio
I did share with the Purchasing Group moderators that Ted Davenport reported that he has a large number of unreleased episodes that he's in the process of digitizing from disc. He said he'd keep us updated on their progress. Ryan www.RyanEllett.com The Old Time Radio Researchers "Saving the Past for the Future" www.OTRR.org www.OTRRLibrary.org

The log says there are 980 episodes -- see http://www.otrsite.com/logs/logj1009.htm
Seems like only 503 are at https://www.oldtimeradiodownloads.com/adventure/jungle-jim 427 are listed at https://www.zootradio.com/Jungle_Jim.php There are 324? at archive.org There are even a couple on YouTube. I'm not sure the amount of overlap. Is there a better source? Art Lortie

2nd Listeners Needed: Fibber McGee & Molly
David Oxford is looking for 2nd listeners for two big projects. One is Fibber McGee & Molly, arguably the most popular OTR series of them all (arguably!). It is a very large set, though maybe not quite as big as CBSRMT! We've been getting a lot of volunteers to serve as 2nd listeners and this is a critically important job. If you'd like to join David's team for this series, contact him at deojao@.... This will certainly become one of the centerpieces of our Maintained sets when it is eventually released.

2nd Listeners Needed: CBS Radio Mystery Theater
David Oxford is looking for 2nd listeners for two big projects. One is the classic 1970s revival series CBS Radio Mystery Theater. It was the gateway to OTR for many modern fans. It is a huge set! We've been getting a lot of volunteers to serve as 2nd listeners and this is a critically important job. If you'd like to join David's team for this series, contact him at deojao@.... These are hour-long programs so be prepared for that when volunteering.
