Richard,
If you pass them on to Paul Kornman he'd be able to replace the library copies.

Re: Index

Sorry, Paul, but I don’t find that option available on either the new or old web site. I’ve briefly looked at all the magazines that start with up to the letter “M”, so I think I know what you are talking about. I’m thinking of indexing the issues of The Old Radio Times to start and then Radio Recall if it is available. Still haven’t committed firmly to it yet, but the idea is rattling around in my head. If there is a different club magazine that might hold more articles about shows and people, let me know and I’ll take a look. Also, if you can send me a spreadsheet with the format that works for you, that would be helpful. Thanks.

I found an error in the OTRR Certified Man Called X set.

Disk 2 has the incorrect file for the episode dated March 14, 1948, “The Pickled Chemist”

https://ia800607.us.archive.org/view_archive.php?archive=/30/items/OTRR_Certified_Man_Called_X/OTRR_Certified_Man_Called_X_Ver1_CD_2of4.zip

This file is actually a duplicate of the Destination Manilla Episode from July 24, 1947

The correct file is online though not in great shape:

https://archive.org/details/TheManCalledX480314ThePickledChemist

Someone out there may have a  better copy. We can tell it’s the right episode because it correctly identifies the next episode.

Paul is correct, I misunderstood what was originally asked. An article index would definitely be a different level of resource than the current table of contents. If anyone is up to it, go for it. Having indexed four books, I'm going to stay as far from that as possible!

I added the other file to the OTRR Library (not the Certified Set) and amended the episode record in the Library app to point to the replacement file.

better copies circulate or if perhaps there may be some open reel tapes

I am also interested in a number of other broadcasts from this series,

If anyone has info of any of these pls contact me.

Re: Index

If you visit our new magazine section (https://otrr.org/mains.html?c=mags)you'll see many issues have articles with page numbers. I don't know how thorough each issue is (unfortunately the covers are distorted but that doesn't impact the content) but the work has been started for many issues. We do not host Radio Recall because they have not given us permission to do so; at one point (years ago) they sold access to all their back issues. I don't know if that has changed since.

Ed Baker

Adam

John Nicholson

Larry Gassman

Richard Davenport

I'm testing it out with a couple people right now, and I don't want to get into the logistics of managing seven different listeners yet. But I've got these people on the list so that when we really begin to hit the Radio Archives reels hard, we'll have individuals lined up to work on confirming dates and titles for the programs. Thank you all!
