Pardon me while I highjack your email as it provides me an opportunity to make a pitch for the OTRR Purchasing Group! This request is for your annual fee is from the the Purchasing Group ($5 per month). I just checked the member rooster and see your membership expired Nov 30. Send your payment via PayPal to Jim Wood at otrpg@... (or email him and ask for other arrangements, if desired.) You can pay monthly but we’d like every 6 months or yearly to keep things simple. We could use more members in the Purchasing Group for anyone wanting to join. We’ve spent nearly our entire treasury on purchasing reels from Radioarchives (the Kelez collection), assisted with the moving, storage and postage cost of the Hehn collection and recently another collection (I don’t think I can tell you about this one yet as it’s still a secret -- but we’re going to need more money). Returning control now….. David Oxford Moderator the Purchasing Group PS: Merry Christmas to all! Enjoy your friends and family today.

Some of the answers are held in the TRANSCO Collection at the Library of Congress. The Bruce Eells story will be told in a future article in The Old Radio Times.
The TRANSCO Collection holds many OTR historical gems including the cast of The Cinnamon Bear in which Bobby La Manche was revealed to have portrayed Jimmy Barton.

These reel collections, though expensive to acquire and ship to those who get the material digitized, have proven well worth the expense, in my opinion. We have found a number of brand new, uncirculating episodes just in the Hehn material, which Joe Webb has posted about over the last year and a half. The Kelez/Falk collection is still being digitized and there is some unique material there as well, but overall it has not been gone through as thoroughly as the Hehn stuff has so far. There is also the huge third collection that hasn't even been touched yet for which, because of its provenence, we have high hopes. And for every new recording we find, there are many, many upgrades to what OTRR has is in its library and beyond that countless shows that we'll be able to upgrade in our library from mp3 to flac even if the sound quality is about the same. All of these collections would not now be accessible if it weren't for the funds of the purchasing group; we'll be mining these reels (how many are there, Joe? 5,000? 8,000? 10,000?) for literally years to come. While all of this does eventually get added to the library, purchasing group members get first access to it by roughly a year. The updates at the end of each Old Radio Times will let you know about the most recent Purchasing Group distributions that usually come from David Oxford. $60 a year is by far the cheapest purchasing group you can join. That will get you two months max in any other purchasing group. Ryan www.RyanEllett.com The Old Time Radio Researchers "Saving the Past for the Future"

I would love to catch up on my dues but if I was sent two previous reminders then my spam bot may have eaten them. If I can be told here what is owed and where I can go do catch up I will do so. Rick Labor ipse voluptas

The dues are $60 annually ($5 per month) and you can send them to OTRPG@.... The membership roster is in the Treasurer’s Corner on the group’s page in the files section. You can always check your membership status there. Additionally a link is emailed to each member monthly.

My renewal just went off Jim. I'm pretty
sure it comes due either in December or January.
