Golden Age of Radio

Ed, I just got home from the business that did the uploading and yours is the first message I see acknowledging receipt of the episodes.  There were 22 intended recipients and none of the others have reported whether they did or did not receive them, but at least so far we are 1-0.  Thank you for letting me know, and I hope you enjoy them.

Hi Larry,

I received the link and registered to Pcloud. Unfortunately too busy working to actually go in and download anything. But I do want to thank you for having provided both the link and the actual materials to hear.

Best regards.

Philip, you are very welcome.  It was a link someone in the group sent this week using pCloud that made me think of asking the people at MTEK Media to use it yesterday for the file sharing.  It looks good and seems simple enough to use, but I am disappointed that so many people failed to receive the link.

Brian, you are very welcome and I'm glad you now have all the shows.  If you want to write episode summaries on some of them and post them on the message board that will be wonderful.  I probably will not get around to doing that for some time, and even then will only write about eight before posting a review of the "Golden Days" set on the Internet Archive.

I'm sure it will be very good and I promise to read every word of it and to reply with any thoughts I have about it.  If you write two or three you will begin to feel comfortable with just what you want to include in each one you do.

Just as a suggestion I like to include the following in all of mine if the information is available: (1) Series title; (2) episode title; (3) broadcast date, network, and name and call letters of the radio station from which the episode was recorded if known; (4) sponsor and any products advertised; (5) where others can listen to the program; and (6) a summary that emphasizes the most interesting features of the episode, including anything unique that I come across.

I look forward to reading your first one.

Larry,

After I figured out how to use P-Cloud it downloaded just fine. Thank
you very, very much.

NOTE:  I typically have a problem with very large files bombing out part
way through (ATT's crummy DSL service) but I got this one on the first try.

Philip, you are very welcome.  It was a link someone in the group sent this week using pCloud that made me think of asking the people at MTEK Media to use it yesterday for the file sharing.  It looks good and seems simple enough to use, but I am disappointed that so many people failed to receive the link.

But I'm glad you got yours!

Hi Alan,

You are very welcome.  Would you consider writing an episode summary of one or both of the shows and posting on the message board of the Main Group?  I am trying to encourage more members to do that, especially with the Golden Days of Radio shows because there are so many of them.

If you are willing to try and want suggestions from me as to a good format to use and what to include, just let me know.  In any event I will read anything you post and reply with the thoughts I have about it.

I'm glad you liked the first two shows you heard.

Hi Jackie,

Congratulations on your 50th wedding anniversary!  I did have you on the list, but the shows must not have gotten through to you.  Yesterday Ryan posted a link to all of them on the Main Group message board so you can access them by finding his message and clicking on the link.

I hope you are enjoying your new computer.
