Introducing.. OTRR Collections
Paul Kornman
Introducing... OTRR Collections - Separate from the OTRR Library, these files are provided in cooperation with collectors who want to share parts of their collections with our researchers, under certain restrictions. The initial collections are from Ted Davenport: Have Gun Will Travel & Ford Theater.
https://www.otrr.org/OTRRLibrary/collections.html (This link is also available from the main OTRR Library Page).
If you are willing to share parts of your own collections with our members, let us know and we'll discuss it.

Paul, this is great. Thank you. I click on a handful of shows and nothing happens, like there is no data behind the link. For example shows 1-6 (Flac) of Have Gun Will Travel. There are others in that series as well. Are those not available for some reason? Thank you so much.

Hi,
When I click on one of the links I am sent to a page that includes a Paypal link. Is there a charge for these shows?
Best Regards,
Michael Hingson

Michael, Here is what I posted on Facebook; I think it addresses your point. Important to note that Ted donated all his files in flac format and it was very important to him that they be offered this way. Also, the donation buttons on these pages will go to Ted directly. It is a donation button, not required to access the programs. Ryan www.RyanEllett.com The Old Time Radio Researchers "Saving the Past for the Future"

Could you give me a specific file with a problem? I'm not finding any (with a brief test). Note: FLAC files are often MUCH larger than the corresponding mp3 file and may take MUCH longer to download before they are available for playing. |
|
Paul, when I click on the link for Episode 1 of Have Gun will travel (11-23-58 flac) I get the following message. I have the same problem with all the other FLAC files up to and including the 3/1/59 episode. Then things seem to work. I am not a computer expert so maybe this is on my end but it seems strange that I was able to access so many files. This is not about downloading speeds. It is getting past this error. Thanks! A few of the Ford Theaters have no sound: 10-5-47, 3-21-48, 4-8-49.
I couldn't find ANY flacs in the Have Gun Will Travel. Both versions of each show are mp3s of exactly the same size, regardless of the size stated. Some of those are missing sound also.

The problem is with the links. The files are there in the folder.
For example: The file name is but the link points to
# is a reserved character. The publishing software doesn’t like it and is messing up the link.

Thanks for the heads up on the '#' character. I've replaced it and those files are working now.
If you find any other problems, please let me know. - Paul |

I think I've fixed all the outstanding issues, and there's now a new Collection: The Couple Next Door.

Paul, there is only one episode that I cannot access in HGWT - 01/25/59 The Teacher. Thanks for fixing all the other issues. John I think I've fixed all the outstanding issues, and there's now a new Collection: The Couple Next Door. |

Once again, special character not translating properly between display/link/filename. At least the other ones made sense. I don’t get this one. No reason for a Latin Capital Letter A with grave and a Unicode space in the episode name. But it’s there and it’s messing things up.

There could also be a zip file that has the set so the names could be whatever.
